The countdown is over, the clock has struck midnight, and – like every year – we’ve all woken up with a bit (read: a lot) of a hangover, and an endless list of new projects and resolutions in our heads for the new year.
Will it be the frankly draconian diet that leaves you desperately raiding the fridge at 1 am after 2 days? Or the commitment to a morning meditation that promptly gets canceled in favour of a few extra minutes in bed? Or – shudder – will it be the annual Dry January attempt that prompts a few tears every time you pass a pub. Well, we’re saying no. Not this year.
Let’s face it – it’s been a tough couple of years, and the last thing we need right now is to demand even more from ourselves. That’s why, in 2022, we simply want to celebrate being ourselves. Here at Treatwell, we’ve made a pact – to proudly accept who we are, and to love what makes us ‘us’. So, we present to you our motto for 2022 – #NewYearAlwaysMe: a new year with zero pressure. We’re letting you in on our resolution to not make resolutions – so keep reading, we’ll bet you can relate too.

I try to get a morning gym session in when I can – but sometimes, the snooze button is just a little too tempting. That extra hour of sleep though? Pure bliss. No regrets here.

I’m the type of person who skips a hair wash day (or three). I’ve fully embraced the ‘greasy hair, don’t care’ life, and the slick-back bun has become my best friend. My nails, though, are my ‘thing’ – I’m in the salon every 2-3 weeks, and I don’t plan on changing that any time soon. It’s my not-so-guilty guilty pleasure – I love the ritual of it, and just love having perfect nails, tbh.

We love a green smoothie in the morning – it’s our fave way to give us the impression of being healthy, and kicking the day off to a great start. On the other hand, our Sunday pizzas are also a must. That’s a rule.

I love being creative – painting, drawing, playing music – I feel at peace when I’m making art. Some days, though, I’m just not feeling it – and that’s okay. I won’t pressure myself to feel great all the time – after all, it’s okay to not be okay sometimes.

I had zero motivation to train or be active this week. I got a good workout making my bed though – which counts, right?

I’m somewhat of a skincare addict, and I’m constantly adding a step or two to my ever-growing skincare routine. Sticking to it, however, is the hard part. When I inevitably forget (or can’t be bothered with) a few steps here and there (I’m looking at you, caffeine eye cream) – I make up for it with an afternoon cappuccino.

I love to cook (and eat) – and I try my best to make semi-healthy, varied meals. In theory. Realistically, I end up giving in to my temptation of making my fave pasta at least once per week. It might not be the healthiest, but it’s so good, and makes me happy – so I’m completely fine with that.
